I have tons of ridiculous methods, habits, and I'll even go as far to call them rituals when it comes to a simple meal. For example, when I put things on my plate, I space everything out so that nothing is touching the item next to it. I also like my food to be cut up into small, even pieces. I rarely like my food to have anything "extra": that means no sauces, spreads, or toppings.
Needless to say, when something like this "sandwich" was placed in front of me, I got a little nervous.

Somewhere in between the two slices of bread, buried amongst the thick, seasoned fries and piles of coleslaw covered in oil and vinegar, lies my traditional sandwich standards.
"Wait, what? My fries are in the sandwich? How do I even eat this? I thought I ordered a turkey sandwich, a simple turkey sandwich! I don't even like coleslaw! I'm confused. I'm hungry! I can't eat this!"
I picked out a few fries. I squished the top slice down to make that first bite a little less colossal. I tried to make it neat. It wasn't working.
"Just eat it, already!" barked my accompanying friend, mouth full of food.
So I did. And so began my new relationship with the Giordano Brothers restaurant and bar, located on 303 Columbus Ave.
Apparently, this type of sandwich is called "Pittsburgh style," which I guess I should have picked up on considering the fact that the entire bar is covered in Pittsburgh Steeler memorabilia. Jerseys, banners, and even a giant inflatable Steelers football player, hang from the walls and ceilings of the room.
But even if the sandwich itself scares you, or if you're not a Steelers fan, there are still a few other things about the restaurant that are universally attractive. The sandwiches were cheap, between $6-$7, and the waiters and bartenders are friendly, attentive, and conversational. The bar also does live music nights, and hosts sports nights where customers can watch the games on multiple televisions around the room.
My only advice for new patrons, however, is the same advice I received the first time I went in: just eat it!
